How we calculate

Width, casing and compound decide how a tire really rides. We only show what was actually measured – and label estimates honestly.

More pressure: less rolling resistance, less grip, less comfort. Tougher casing: more protection, more weight. Softer compound: more grip, more rolling resistance.

Modelled values are assumptions based on the stated measurement points – not a lab test.

Magazine ride tests

BikeRadar

March 2020

BikeRadar awards 2.5 out of 5: the Mota is good in mud and rolls fast for a mud tire. On hard, wet ground, however, the compound grips poorly, and the narrow casing makes it nervous there.

MTB-News.de

September 2018

MTB-News tests the Mota alongside the Barzo. The Mota is categorized as an Italian tire for trail and enduro use — with an open mud tread and 4C Graphene compound.

twentynineinches-de.com

July 2018

In the field test by twentynineinches-de.com, the Mota shows its "teeth" in the wet and on greasy trails: the open tread for mixed to muddy ground barely clogs and convinces when the weather turns.

off-road.cc

November 2017

off-road.cc awards 8 out of 10: the Mota sheds mud excellently and grips well on sticky ground. The main criticism is the weight — it would need to be lighter for a broader audience.

Pinkbike

July 2017

Pinkbike tests the Mota as a tire for the muddiest downhill conditions with a 4C Graphene compound. With it, Vittoria wanted to break into the big DH tire category.
